See Painted Cave, an historical landmark featuring Chumash Indian rock art. Dirt road ends at picnic spot with unique hot spring pool, vault toilet and dressing area. A hiking trail leads to another hot spring. Trip concludes with a spectacular drive down Rattlesnake Canyon. Route passes Divide Peak OHV Area. (For ATVs and dirt bikes only.) First part of route is a narrow, winding, poorly maintained paved road. After that, a bumpy dirt road descends steeply into canyon. Suitable for any SUV. Very hot in summer. Day use only at hot springs. Leave from Santa Barbara and get onto Gibraltar rd and follow for about 55 miles and enjoy!
